These headphones are a direct competitor to the Focus UC from Plantronics so expect many comparisons to them as they are in a similar class both with their target audience and their pricing.
These headphones represent mid-tier of the Microsoft UC headset offering from Jabra at almost half the price of their bigger Evolve 80 brothers. If someone comes across a Jabra Evolve2 65 that's differently configured from the above table of options, let us know in the discussions so we can update our review.Today I have 2 units. While we haven't tested the other stereo variants, we expect them to perform similarly overall. We tested the 26599-989-999 variant, which is a black stereo headset with UC optimization and a USB-A wireless dongle. The charging stand is also an added-cost option. That said, while color, optimization, and USB-dongle selection don't seem to affect their cost, stereo headsets are priced higher than mono headsets. If you buy these headphones directly from Jabra's website, you can mix and match the following options. If you're shopping on Jabra's website, they're available in two colors: black and beige. You can select built-in optimization for either Microsoft Teams or Unified Communication (UC), configure them as a mono or stereo headset, choose between a USB-A and USB-C wireless dongle, and buy them with a charging dock. The Jabra Evolve2 65 are available in a fairly broad selection of configuration options. Jabra advises that you should use them with the included Link 380 USB dongle if you want the best audio and mic quality.

However, it has noticeably worse audio quality than Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), which is the default Bluetooth profile and is one-way, so you can't use the mic. This is a two-way audio Bluetooth profile that supports audio and the mic at the same time. Keep in mind that when using this connection, their audio quality drops and it sounds similar to audio via Hands-Free Profile (HFP). They can also still be used over a Bluetooth connection whenever they're charging.
These headphones support passive USB audio and mic compatibility with the included USB-A to USB-C cable, which you can also use to charge the headphones. Keep in mind that the manufacturer recommends using the provided USB dongle for the best audio quality. This sounds very similar to their wired USB performance. However, these profiles lower sound and mic quality. If you want mic and audio compatibility, the headphones can switch to Headset Profile (HSP) or Hands-Free Profile (HFP). However, this profile is only one-way, so the mic won't work on any device or OS. By default, Bluetooth headphones use Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), which is a Bluetooth profile for audio playback. The drop in audio quality using this connection is most comparable to the drop experienced when switching Bluetooth profiles. Update : We've added a comparison to better explain audio quality via wired USB.
